You can modify the configuration elements for the various N4 components.
Following are instructions for accessing the configuration applications in a Windows environment:
To modify configuration applications for the N4 services:
Find the configuration application.
For a N4 node, on one of the N4 hosts, go to the C:\Program Files\Navis\sparcsn4\bin folder, and right-click one of the node executables, such as n4node1w.exe.
For the Bridge daemon, on the host for XPS/Bridge daemon, go to the C:\Program Files\Navis\sparcsn4\bin folder, and right-click bridgedw.exe.
For ECN4, on the host for ECN4, go to the C:\Program Files\Navis\ecn4\bin folder, and right-click ecn4w.exe.
Then, from the menu that appears on right-click, choose Run as administrator. The User Account Control dialog opens, asking you to confirm the configuration. The User Account Control dialog is part of the Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 security regime. This launches the configuration application. Click Yes.
Select the Java tab. The fields in this tab, including the Java Options field, are where many of the configuration elements are defined. For example,
In the Java Options tab - $CONTAINER_IDENTITY$ - This is a string that identifies the N4 node to the rest of the cluster. It must be unique to the cluster, and its format has to conform to the rules of an internet URL. For example, you could call it something like "HostANode1."
This string name shows up in the N4 client in several places. For example, it displays in the bottom border of the N4 client, and when you launch a background job (Administration
System
Background Jobs), a Node Selection dialog appears with all of these names in a drop-down list.
